Your First Trip to Lanai

You’ve come to Lanai to get away from it all and this intimate island doesn’t disappoint. Drink in the timeless beauty of rustic Central Lanai or sun yourself on a beach chair in South Lanai, untethered by the pressures of daily life. You’ll find your ideal itinerary on Lanai is not having one.

To get to Lanai fly to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) or Kahului Airport (OGG) in Maui, where you can connect to several local airlines with service to Lanai Airport (LNY). Otherwise, there is regular ferry service from Lahaina Harbor in Maui to Manele Harbor on Lanai’s southern coast. Ferry trips take roughly an hour and make for great day trips.

On your first visit, start off at Hulopoe Bay on Lanai’s south coast. Home to the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, beautiful Hulopoe Beach offers great snorkelling, sunbathing and tidal pools to explore. Take a short hike from the beach to find the Lanai landmark Puu Pehe (Sweetheart Rock). Then head up north to the cool uplands of Lanai City. Shop, dine or take advantage of the resort activities at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, The Lodge at Koele. Spectacular golf courses await you in either area of Lanai. There is plenty to do here, but don’t rush to do it all. That would defeat the whole purpose of visiting peaceful Lanai.
